Research Assistant II in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) (Ref.: 526211) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed term basis, with the possibility of renewal)The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is a leading, global university focused on both research and teaching excellence. The Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) is tasked with supporting and enhancing teaching and learning across all Faculties at HKU by promoting best practices in pedagogy, assessment, technology enhanced learning and feedback in higher education that are informed by educational research.The Role
  • Be responsible for the organisation, preparation, promotion, and execution of online/onsite/hybrid events, such as competitions, symposia, seminars, and workshops, under the Project.
  • Provide support to other parties to facilitate the successful attainment of the Project outcomes.
  • Conduct research activities, such as literature review, data collection and analysis, and report writing.
  • Develop resources and materials in written and/or visual forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Education, Social Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience of event promotion and organisation, as well as project maintenance.
  • Experience of the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Positive attitude in problem-solving, ability to meet deadlines and good attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • A high level of computer literacy, particularly in using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience of using content management systems (Wordpress). video makers (Powtoon) and Generative AI tools would be an advantage.
What We OfferThe appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
