BDA AnalystBasic FunctionThis position provides Asia O&P management and corporate business unit directors with market analyses to improve mid-to-long term financial performance. This position covers the role for Business Decision Analysis (BDA).The incumbent serves as the focal point to evaluate, report and make recommendations related to a range of activities. These activities include both commercial and operational decisions related to product optimization analysis among various supply sources, pricing analysis, business profitability, customer profile and revenue growth / cost reduction opportunities.This position coordinates and supports the various stages of the Enterprise Planning Process on assigned product groups/JV assets including Long Range Plan and Annual Budget. The incumbent is considered an expert with a span of knowledge extending across all olefins & polyolefins units.The position frequently interfaces with Global Strategic and Planning Director, Asia Business Director, Asia Sales Director, Commercial Management, China Asset Manager, Asia JV Management, corporate Business Unit Directors, Customer and Commercial Excellence, SP&T organization. The incumbent is a core member of the Business Team (along with the Business manager, Marketing manager and Operations planner).The position requires interaction with external consultants; Operations Staff groups (ADTS, Business Finance, HSE, Supply Chain), JV Business/Planning staff group and a broad array of functional groups such as Finance & Control, Credit, Treasury and Tax.Roles & Responsibilities Provide performance analysis and reporting including budgets, YTD Actual and forecast.
 Support the Enterprise Planning Process, including the development of Long Range Plan, Budget and STI analysis.
 Serve as internal consultant to Business Management and Asset Manager.
 Develops and maintains forecasting models of supply/demand for selected products.
 Develop business analyses with analytical input on competitor and customer profiles.
 Provide weekly and monthly reports to BAP commercial organization as required.
 Provide Asia monthly forecast to finance team with olefins and polyolefins industry movement.
 Report Asia market intelligence on olefins & polyolefins, in particular for China domestic market on regular basis.
 Assess and report China and Vietnam production and import/export statistics with industry trend analysis.
 Provide analytical support to BAP and corporate SP&T organization on development of commercial opportunities as required.Min. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of working experience, with 7 years or more in chemical or related industry with 3 years of planning, evaluation or business analysis experience.
 Bachelor's degree in either a technical or business field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
 Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
 Interpersonal skills required to work with management and to operate effectively as a business team member.
 Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
