- Translate ‘blue sky’ vision into practical deployment, digesting the full landscape on issues and programmes, consolidating outputs and design thinking into relevant presentations and briefings
- Facilitate strategic decisions, mediating and aligning across our senior GB/GF colleagues
- Lead competitor benchmarking studies and prepare briefings on the state of the Asset Management industry
- Support/implement the continuing development or transformation of the function’s operating model to ensure the business operates increasingly effectively and efficiently and is able to deliver HSBC's strategic goals
- Ensure all key stakeholders are informed on projects as appropriate, e.g., via appropriate governance forums
- Support corporate management tasks for the Asia CEO including people strategy and resourcing, financial cost control and planning, governance, strategy and global & regional construct/structure and organisational design
- Act as a key strategic partner and contact point to AM Asia CEO’s Office as well as WPB Strategy Offices’ SPOC providing services whilst ensuring performance metrics are met
- Ensure strong collaboration with Global Business (GB), Global Functions (GF) teams to mobilise initiatives requiring cross-functional inputs
- Engage with functional stakeholders (e.g., Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance), Product Partners and the other Global Businesses to ensure progression against plans
- Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualize data into business activities and conclusions
- Strong understanding of Asset Management business knowledge of clients, capabilities, operational topics, experience in Asset Management preferred
- Demonstrated experience in strategy and or corporate development, either in an in-house strategy team or a consulting / banking context
- Well established understanding of the financial services landscape and competitor developments
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the external environment within the Market - regulatory, political, competitor and economic
- Ability to drive change forward with pace, whilst setting and managing realistic expectations, often requiring critical upfront challenge
