- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the off-trade channel, including retailers, supermarkets, and online platforms, to maximize sales and market share of wine and spirits products.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with off-trade retailers and corporate clients, establishing long-term partnerships and securing new accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the off-trade and corporate sectors, including category managers, buyers, and procurement teams.
- Lead the negotiation of pricing, terms, and contracts with off-trade and corporate customers, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop sales campaigns, promotions, and product launches that drive brand awareness and increase sales volumes.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for business growth and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, and regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.
- Manage a team of sales professionals, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations to drive individual and team success.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and meet customer requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance standards related to the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in sales and business development, preferably in the wine and spirits industry, with a focus on off-trade and corporate sales.
- Strong network and relationships within the off-trade retail sector, including supermarkets, liquor stores, and online platforms.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at various levels.
- In-depth knowledge of the wine and spirits industry, including product categories, market trends, and distribution channels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, and develop effective sales strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team towards achieving targets.
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales management tools to track performance and manage customer relationships.
- Ability to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit off-trade retail locations.
