Posting Date: 2025-08-26The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityDEPARTMENT OF LOGISTICS AND MARITIME STUDIESAssistant Officer (Ref. 250826003-IE)DutiesThe appointee will be required to:(a) support the administration of research grants, research and taught postgraduate degrees;(b) provide secretarial support to committees and working groups;(c) support the planning, co-ordination and implementation of promotional and marketing activities, special events, seminars, workshops and special projects;(d) assist in the liaison with internal units and external organisations, including professional bodies;(e) assist in compiling reports and proposals;(f) supervise junior staff and student assistants; and(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Unit or his delegates.QualificationsApplicants should:(a) have a recognised degree, preferably with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience;(b) have good computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.;(c) be able to work independently and proactively;(d) be a good team player;(e) have good communication and interpersonal skills; and(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua.Preference will be given to those with working experience in tertiary institution.Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.Conditions of ServiceA highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.
