Closing Date: September 30, 2025The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking an outstanding candidate for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP) in the Atmospheric, Climate and Environmental Sciences. Research topics include the applications of numerical modeling and artificial intelligence to examine the physical and chemical processes governing the atmosphere, ecosystems, agriculture and their interactions, and to formulate optimal environmental, land and agricultural management strategies that offer co-benefits for pollution control, climate change mitigation, food security and ecosystem restoration.Applicants should have (i) a relevant Ph.D. degree in the Atmospheric, Climate and Environmental Sciences or related fields with at least one year of postdoctoral (or equivalent) research experience; (ii) strong and outstanding academic credentials and records, as evidenced by high-quality publications as a leading author; and (iii) experience in independently leading innovative research projects. Strong backgrounds in numerical modeling, machine learning, statistical and scientific computation and will be considered an advantage.The appointee will be expected to (a) apply for external competitive research grants; (b) develop and participate in collaborative research projects; (c) co-supervise and mentor postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers; (d) undertake teaching duties at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and (e) provide service at department, faculty, and university levels.Applicants should submit an online application and attach a full CV that includes a list of publications, copies of academic credentials, together with names, addresses, and email addresses of three referees to whom the applicants’ consent has been given for their providing references.
