- Minimum of 8 years relevant business experience, ideally within Life and Health Insurance (Product, Distribution) and/or Investment Management; experience in or knowledge of Sun Life’s businesses and the Asia markets would be assets
- University degree in business or related discipline; MBA or other relevant advanced degree
- 3-5 years in top-tier management consulting or equivalent experience in a Corporate setting
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and solving complex business problems and conducting
- Demonstrated experience designing and managing complex, transformational, multi-faceted business programmes.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analytics, including using modelling tools and
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strategy design and development; strategy diagnostics
- Translate ambiguous strategic goals and issues into clearly defined problem statements, hypotheses, and corresponding analyses
- Provide perspectives, strategic frameworks, and analysis support to help businesses
- Assist businesses and functions in strategy development, including: research on external trends and competitive environment; business and financial analysis; competitive positioning analysis; and strategy articulation.
- Deep dive into a businesses historical financial and operational performance, strategy, and operations; understand strategic position within a market, and strategic advantages / hindrances; recommend / evaluate future strategies, including identifying areas where action / augmentation / correction is needed
- Articulate the principles and goals of complex business / transformation programmes
- Translate programmes and goals into a clear, crisp, executable series of layered workstreams, including: workstream definition, scope, approach and goals; milestones; resourcing; interdependencies; governance, communication and change management plan
- Coordinate and drive the programme – ensuring quality execution, clear decision making, and good visibility on progress and gaps
- Problem solve – drawing in resources from around Sun Life / external if needed – to remove roadblocks
- Define scope, design approach, and develop work plan for strategy projects and enablement programmes
- Execute project plan and manage across multiple work streams, adapting and reprioritizing as necessary to meet project objectives while ensuring timely delivery and achievable scope
- Manage project delivery across multiple team members (from Corporate Strategy team and partners in Business Groups/functions)
- Bring new perspectives, creative ideas, and practical approaches to problems and issues
- Effectively communicate insights, ideas, and strategies to an executive level audience in a clear, compelling, and concise manner
- Facilitate working sessions with multiple audiences, including but not limited to senior executives.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative analytical results to guide recommendations and inform strategic decision making
