- Understand client needs and providing recommendations, supports and guidance of infrastructure solution options of Oracle technologies on-premises, cloud & hybrid environments, incl. Oracle Databases, Engineering Systems, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Applications, Security, Identity & Access Management, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
- Propose delivery approach on the above solutions to meet customer system's services level agreements (SLA) of implementation, deployment, upgrade & migration projects.
- Implement & deliver proposed solutions & deliverables independently to customers on time & within budget based on signed order documents / contracts with change control process in place for new or revised plans / requirements.
- Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner, as well as strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to challenges. Identify where improvements can be made and developing solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Work well in a team environment. Support the project manager in all project management related tasks, incl. project progress, status, quality, milestone achievement, risk mitigation, customer satisfaction, etc. Act as the project manager for small & medium projects or projects with only the successful candidate to deliver.
- Perform trouble shooting, performance tuning & post-implementation supports independently on Oracle technologies. Work with Oracle Support & Product organizations to resolve technical issues, and create product enhancement requests if needed, by providing necessary information beyond technical perspectives, like business priorities & impacts to customers.
- Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor on Oracle technologies & services. Present Oracle solutions & services to clients in achieving mutual benefits & reaching agreements to move forwards in both sales & delivery stages for deal & project success closure.
- Provide professional services to clients under compliance to Oracle & the client's policies in any projects.
- Perform all administrative & compliance tasks as required by Oracle particularly for Oracle Consulting's practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experiences as Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) role in designing & delivering infrastructure projects of implementation, deployment, upgrade & migration on Oracle technologies, incl. but not limited to Oracle Enterprise Database & its options, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Applications (preferrable E-Business Suite and as an advantage on PeopleSoft, Siebel, Fusion Apps), etc.
- Solid experiences of designing & implementing Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture (Oracle MAA) on-premises and/or in cloud environments, incl. storage, networking, backup & recovery, resilience for single point of failure, disaster recovery (DR), DR drills, production failover & switch back, meeting system's services level agreements (SLA), zero down time upgrade & migration, etc. Advantages for those with experiences in Oracle Golden Gate.
- Knowledges & experiences in trouble shooting & performance tuning on above Oracle technologies with or without Oracle management tools, e.g. Oracle Enterprise Manager & Oracle Cloud Manager.
- Experiences, preferable but not mandatory, in infrastructure design, installation & configurations of Oracle Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) as well as Oracle Security, Oracle Identity & Access Management particularly Oracle Access Manager (OAM), on-premises or in OCI. Successful candidate without these experiences is expected to learn & deliver related projects after onboarding.
- Advantage for those with knowledge of other database technologies beyond Oracle Enterprise Database, e.g. MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, etc.
- Advantage for those with knowledge of Linux, virtualization & cloud native infrastructure, e.g. Kernel-based virtual machine (KVM), Containers, Kubernetes, etc.
- Preferable working experiences in professional services vendor environments, e.g. delivery consultant in software / cloud vendors, system integrators, etc. with proven success of working independently and managing client/end-user expectations. Experiences as the project manager as an advantage.
- Advantage with experiences of working with vendor's support & product organizations to resolve technical issues and create product enhancement requests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, and team members.
- Proficient in English for project's documentation deliverables to clients, as well as in Chinese as an advantage.
- Fluent spoken language skills in Cantonese and English, as well as Mandarin as an advantage.
- Candidates outsides Hong Kong will be considered as well as long as one has or will have the permission by Hong Kong laws to work in Hong Kong with Hong Kong citizenship, under working visa arrangement or other means.
