Project Title: Digit-in-noise test for screening older adults with mild cognitive impairment in a community setting – a pilot validation study[Appointment Period: 10 months]The appointee will be responsible for coordinating multiple research projects, conducting literature searches, preparing test materials, collecting and analyzing research data, and drafting research articles. He/she will be required to liaise with community centers, schools, teachers, and other external parties; supervise part-time helpers; and perform other duties as assigned. This post is suitable for those who would like to gain first-hand research experience in the speech, language, and hearing sciences field, and to work with the elderly, students with diverse learning needs, and all ages with communication problems. The appointment will be for a period of 10 months with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement.Applicants are preferably to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, Psychology, or other related disciplines. He/she is expected to have self-motivated, cooperative, and responsible work attitudes. Applicants should have high proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Knowledge in computer applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing) is essential. Reasonable knowledge in communication sciences, statistical analysis, educational psychology, and experience in dealing with the elderly or diverse students will be an advantage.Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
