Hong Kong Interbank Clearing LimitedHong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) is a private organization jointly owned by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Association of Banks. The Company’s key objective is to develop and operate a safe and efficient multi-currency and multi-dimensional financial infrastructure in Hong Kong for:large-value interbank fund transfers denominated in HKD, USD, Euro and RMB;interbank money settlement of equity and debt securities transactions in Hong Kong via the linkages with the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited and the HKMA’s Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) system;small-value interbank fund transfers denominated in HKD and RMB via the HKD and RMB Faster Payment System; andinterbank clearing and/or money settlement of retail payments, such as paper cheques, autocredits, credit card payments, etc. in Hong Kong.The Company is also the operator of the HKMA’s CMU system.Apart from interbank clearing-and-settlement services, the Company and its subsidiaries also support the HKMA and the financial industry to foster the development of the financial technology (“FinTech”) ecosystem in Hong Kong.We are looking for a suitable candidate to take up the following job position.Senior Specialist (Systems Infrastructure) – Database AdministratorMajor ResponsibilitiesAssist in the system architectural design and solutions for the database systems and AIX related system software to meet business requirements and cost-effectivenessUndertake DBA role to manage and administer various RDBMS (e.g. DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)Install and configure database products (e.g. Oracle RAC, ASM, Oracle Active Data Guard, Oracle Golden Gate replication)Devise proper design and procedures for database backup and restore, snapshots, data recovery, disaster recovery, data mirroring, HA solution, security setup, 7x24 operation and other related featuresPerform software upgrade and apply security and software patches to the database and AIX related system softwareConduct system monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planningPerform trouble-shooting, problem solving and incident managementDevelop and keep up-to-date documentation of database systemsMaintain high system availability and database integrity and ensure high database securityWork closely with other technical teams and external vendors for database system set-up and configurationProvide technical assistance to the application development teams on database design for project developmentMonitor, time, and report systems performance in use of relevant monitoring toolsDesign, produce and conduct appropriate training sessions to colleagues for new developments in the database systemsUnder direction from the Management, investigate developments in the database software packages and utilities areas. Make appropriate proposals for the improvement of services delivered to the users of the computer systemsProvide advice and assistance, on the features of, and the use of the database software and utilitiesProvide 7x24 on-call for emergency production incidents and provide on-site support for fire-fightingPerform other duties as assigned by the superiorsRequirementsUniversity degree in electrical/electronic, computer engineering/science or related disciplineMinimum 7 years’ experience in DBA role for database administration supportSolid knowledge of at least one of DB2, Oracle or PostgreSQL with their associated software productsKnowledge of SQL Server is preferredGood knowledge of AIX and/or other Unix systems, along with their associated system softwarePick up new skills through self-learning and on the job trainingWilling to perform evening and holiday shift duties for supporting operationGood command of spoken and written English and ChineseExcellent problem-solving skills including root-cause analysisAble to pick up new skills through self-learning and on-the-job trainingGood communication and interpersonal skills and able to work under pressureHow to Apply
