Posting Date: 2025-09-02The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd.Associate System Specialist (Smart Metering) (Ref: CS-M-ASSSM-R)Responsibilities:Reporting to the Meter Engineer, the appointee will mainly perform the following duties:

To operate smart metering systems for remote data retrieval, meter data management and data estimation monitoring
To check and handle the abnormal meter events/alarms, missing data and exception cases of data validation
To conduct remote programming, firmware upgrade, associated preparation and Quality Assurance (QA) testing for the meters and communication equipment
To monitor the network communication of meters and perform manual time synchronization of the meters and communication
To assist in the development of the in-house tools to support the daily operations of the smart metering systems, and resolve the meter data enquiries and complaints

Requirements:

Higher Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines
Experience in electrical function, computer programming or data analytics preferred
Good knowledge of IT applications
Knowledge of metering principles, electrical system design, Supply Rules and Guide to Connection of Supply, IT Project and Building Energy Management System an advantage
