Posting Date: 2025-08-19Michael Kors (HK) LimitedTesting ManagerKey Responsibilities:Establish Testing Protocols:Develop and implement comprehensive testing protocols for ready-to-wear garments, including:Physical Testing: Assessing tensile strength, seam strength, and fabric durability.Chemical Testing: Evaluating for harmful substances (e.g., REACH, CPSIA compliance).Aesthetic Testing: Ensuring colorfastness, shrinkage, and appearance retention.Performance Testing: Conducting wear and tear assessments.Collaboration with Laboratories:Work closely with external laboratories to understand testing methodologies and ensure accurate and timely results.Coordinate with labs to troubleshoot issues and optimize testing processes.In-House Accreditation Program:Set up and manage an in-house accreditation program to streamline testing procedures and maintain high-quality standards.Train and mentor team members on testing protocols and accreditation requirements.Monitor Vendor and Supplier Testing Applications:Establish a system to monitor testing applications from vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with established protocols.Evaluate testing results and provide feedback to vendors, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.Communication and Cascade Protocol:Develop clear communication strategies to disseminate testing protocols and requirements to vendors and suppliers.Ensure that all stakeholders are informed about testing expectations and any changes to protocols.Reporting and Evaluation:Monitor testing outcomes and maintain accurate records of all testing activities.Prepare reports for senior management on testing results, compliance status, and areas for improvement.Conduct regular evaluations of vendor testing performance and implement improvement plans as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Fashion Merchandising, Quality Assurance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing, quality assurance, or product development within the ready-to-wear fashion industry.Strong understanding of testing protocols, methodologies, and relevant standards for textiles and apparel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage vendors and suppliers.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess testing outcomes and implement improvements.Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
