(Post Ref.: 25/192)Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance, operation, refurbishment, and upgrading of building facilities and building fabric on the University's main and satellite campuses
- Manage outsourced facility management (FM) service providers, on-site technicians, and contractors on engineering works
- Develop technical specifications on tendering for repair and maintenance (R&M), improvement, refurbishment, alteration and addition (A&A) works; tender evaluation, contracts administration, monitoring and site works supervision
- Vet technical proposal submitted by outsourced FM service providers and contractors
- Plan, organize, direct and control multi-disciplinary technical activities in safe, reliable, cost-effective and quality-driven manners
- Formulate technical strategies and streamline procedures to enhance the technical team’s overall efficiency and effectiveness
- Deal with external consultants, government authorities, and public utilities on technical and statutory requirements
- Ensure all technical setup and performance are fully comply with the current local legislation and regulations
- Prepare budgets related to technical work and control expenses
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
- A degree holder in Building Surveying / Building Studies or other construction-related disciplines
- Possession of professional qualifications of HKIS / RICS or equivalent from the professional institute is preferred
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification working experience in building services or building maintenance, preferably in universities with 3 years at the supervisory level
- Relevant experience in managing large-scale maintenance, operation and fit-out projects
- Working experience in education institutes / local universities is preferred
- Self-motivated, and able to work under pressure and work independently
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Building Management System operation
- Good command of verbal and written English and Chinese
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
