He/She should be able to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform upgrades, and ensure proper functioning of IT infrastructure & IT Networking equipment such as Firewalls, Router, Switches & cabling. Additionally, should be able to work with remote site end-users and collaborate with remote support teams for complex problem resolution. Strong technical skills, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities are crucial in this role.Roles & Responsibilities:On-site Support: - Provide on-site assistance for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, servers, and network devices.Hardware and Software Troubleshooting: - Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime for users.Network Setup & Maintenance: - Should be able to work closely with Network Engineers & to follow Network Diagrams to be able to setup Networks at remote sites. Should be all to physically RACK Servers, Nutanix, NW devices such as Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Patch Panels & related to get the Network stood up at remote sites. Strong knowledge of local area networks (LANs), SD WANs and wide area networks (WANs), ensuring connectivity and optimal performance is a must.Upgrades and Installations: - Execute hardware and software upgrades, installations, and migrations as needed, following best practices and minimizing disruptions.User Support: - Provide technical support to end-users, addressing their IT-related queries, and offering training on new systems or software.Security Compliance: - Implement and enforce security policies, ensuring that systems and networks adhere to industry standards and compliance requirements.Documentation: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of hardware configurations, software licenses, and network layouts.Remote Collaboration: - Collaborate with remote support teams such as Networking, System Admins, Backup Teams & Facility Admin to resolve complex technical issues and participate in regular communication to share insights and updates.Vendor Liaison: - Coordinate with hardware and software vendors to facilitate repairs, replacements, or updates, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Specifically with Internet Service Providers & related vendors, to ensure the Network is always up at remote locations.IT Asset Management: - Manage and track IT assets, including inventory management, ensuring proper disposal of obsolete equipment and adherence to asset management policies.Emergency Response: - Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as system outages or security breaches, and implement corrective actions to restore services.Requirements and skills:3-4 years of relevant experience as an IT Field Service Engineer.Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programsExcellent written & oral communication in English & local languages, with professional articulation skills required for interacting with customers.Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skillsCustomer-oriented attitudeExperience in handling basic auditsKnowledge of IP network, DNS, DHCP, WAN, LAN and experience with troubleshooting all aspects of wired and wireless configuration.Having experience with Google workspace, Cisco Switching & Routing and OKTA will be an advantage.Certification in such as CCNA would be a plusBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field etwork stood up at remote sites.
