DescriptionsRef. 240000UPClosing Date : May 2, 2024The appointee will serve as a backend team leader in the technical team, and will be responsible for (a) managing the Department's network, IT infrastructure and system; (b) administering Linux servers, network equipment and firewall; (c) managing in-house developed applications; (d) supervising technical staff; (e) providing technical support to staff and students; and (f) undertaking other tasks as assigned.Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines; (ii) at least 6 years' post-qualification relevant experience; (iii) the willingness to learn new technologies; (iv) solid experience in networking, such as switch, VPN server and firewall; (v) hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining Linux servers; and (vi) good organisational and communication skills. Experience in cloud administration and high-performance cluster management (e.g. Slurm) will be an advantage.Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
