Appointees will go through a 2-year intensive on-the-job technical training in distribution system operation. They will be placed under the guidance of experienced tutors and engineering supervisors. Upon successful completion of the training and attainment of Senior Authorization qualification, the incumbents with satisfactory performance will be appointed to assist Senior Control Engineers in the System Control Centre of the Company to take up shift duty to monitor and control our distribution system for providing highly reliable electricity supply.Major duties:

Monitor and control the CLP Power distribution system via SCADA to ensure security of supply

Response to system emergency, identify and isolate faulty equipment and restore supply from available sources

Initiate preliminary investigation on abnormalities, liaise with site staff to attend fault repair and monitor the fault handling process

Implement efficiently all short term operational plans, and initiate post fault system re-configuration

Supervise Technical Officers - System Control in handling trouble calls related to HV & LV system faults and subsequent preparation for accurate reports

Act as Information Officer to liaise with external parties and disseminate operational information during fault disturbances

Prepare distribution outage programmes, contingency plans, load flow/fault level study, and other Operational Planning duties when rotated to Operational Planning Branch

Requirements:

A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience

Analytical, proactive with good communication and interpersonal skills

Positive thinking and good learning attitude

Mindful and have good safety awareness

Willing to take up shift duties
