We are looking for Research Associate(s) / Research Assistant(s) with the background in the field of Software Engineering / Automation to join The Advanced Biomedical Robotics Lab at Chow Yuk Ho Technology Centre for Innovative Medicine. The appointee’s duties will include developing software to control the robotic system and its integration or communication with different ultrasound systems for intelligent diagnosis and treatment. The appointee(s) will mainly work with Dr. Zheng LI and his research team on the project of Robotic System for Minimally Invasive Transperineal Prostate Diagnosis And Therapy.Applicants should have/be (i) a Master’s degree or above in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or related disciplines, plus four years of post-qualification relevant experience (for Research Associate); OR, a Bachelor’s degree or above in the abovementioned disciplines (for Research Assistant); (ii) advanced programming skills (e.g. Python, Java, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink); (iii) familiar with software development under GUI framework, UI/UX, and data structures, preferably for mechatronic/robotic systems; (iv) independently responsible for software/system/module with a certain code size;(v) strong attention to detail and high flexibility; (vi) good communication, coordination and organizational skills with a strong sense of responsibility; (vii) strong problem-solving and analytical ability; (viii) ability to work under pressure independently to meet multiple tasks and tight deadlines; and (ix) fluent in both written and spoken English, Cantonese or Mandarin. (v) Experience in any of the following areas would be desirable: (1) signal and image processing, especially on ultrasound images and DICOM files; (2) deep learning and AI applications; (3) robotic motion planning and system integration of robotic systems. Immediate availability is highly preferred.The appointee(s) will assist in (a) developing software to control the robotic system and its integration or communication with different ultrasound systems; (b) creating a user-friendly interface for the control of robotic systems that are compatible with different ultrasound systems; (c) adopting AI, image analysis and processing techniques on live ultrasound images and DICOM files; and (d) path planning, navigation, force control and visual servo, imaging parameters automatic adjustment of ultrasound robotic system.Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.Please contact Dr. Zheng LI ( ) with email subject titled " Robotic System for Minimally Invasive Transperineal Prostate Diagnosis And Therapy " for more information.
