- Conducting important proactive assessments and assurance around the effectiveness of controls and company processes, while also providing objective consulting support
- Substantive matters of current and emerging HKMA, SFC, and global regulatory expectations regarding ESG and Climate Risk
- Strategy setting and implementation of net-zero commitments made by our clients
- Advice and guidance on structuring client organizational model (people, process and technology) for ESG / climate risk
- Structure and function of compliance roles and responsibilities and business models
- Understanding of ESG and Climate aligned technology and data solutions including fintech and regtech innovation
- Regulatory change management including planning and communication with regulators
- Policy development efforts in Hong Kong
- Climate Risk Management Framework Development
- Revision or formulation of new policies and controls aligned with regulatory and compliance guidelines and requirements
- Collaboration with our ESG / climate risk professionals in other parts of the globe (Americas, EMEIA and APAC) on ESG / climate risk
- A university degree majoring in sustainability, climate risk, accounting, information systems, data, business or legal related subjects
- At least 3+ years of solid experience in ESG / Sustainability preferably within the financial services industry, either in a consulting role or in-house. In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management is a must. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered at Manager Level
- Robust practical experience of internal controls, regulatory compliance, risk governance and related operational knowledge
- Familiarity with Financial Services domain and the regulatory environment of Hong Kong with experience in liaising with HKMA and SFC. Regional experience would be an advantage.
- Good command of both written and spoken English; dual language skills are a plus
- Ability to interact with executive levels of clients, regulators and EY management
- Good influencing skills and stakeholder relationship management skills, advanced conflict management/resolution skills and project coordination experience
- Strong report-writing skills, with ability to create and organize varying forms of business information while developing it into clear, meaningful, professional reports and presentations
- Industry related certification is a plus (e.g., FRM, CPA/ CA, CFA, GARP SCR)
- Sustainability certification is a plus
