Chair Professor / Professor / Associate Professor - Global STEM Professorship Scheme

The University seeks to recruit internationally renowned STEM scholars at the rank of Chair Professor, Professor, or Associate Professor
under the Global STEM Professorship Scheme (the Scheme) which is partially funded by the Government of Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region. The successful appointee(s) will aid the University to scale new heights in teaching, research and knowledge
exchange activities, as well as to expand the Innovation & Technology talent pool of Hong Kong in the long run.
The applicants should have worked at a university or research institute outside Hong Kong on a full-time basis (equivalent to full or
Associate Professor) for not less than 3 years in the past 10 years. They should have a doctoral degree in the relevant disciplines, a
distinguished, internationally-recognized record of research and deliverables in education settings, a proven record of outstanding
academic leadership in tertiary institutions. The applicant's research directions should focus on the following areas: (i) Machine learning,
Data analysis (including visual and sound), AI and Big Data, Data privacy and ethics; (ii) Educational technology, robotics and STEM
applications in special education needs, early childhood education, humanities/linguistics; (iii) environmental science, public health and
related areas; and (iv) innovative overseas STEM education interventions.
Successful candidate(s) may be nominated to the Scheme. The appointee may be provided with a research team/research funding and/or a
STEM lab.
Attractive and competitive remuneration will be offered to suitable candidates. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University's Voluntary Contributions to MPF
Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where
applicable, housing benefits.
