As a Fiber Optic Cable Installer you'll play a pivotal role in these groundbreaking endeavours. Your responsibilities will include the installation, termination and testing of fibre optic cable, hydra cables and funnel fibres, as well as overseeing all data cable infrastructure installs including single-mode fibre, hydra cables, and funnel fibres. You'll excel in fault-finding within Datacentres and Technology Rooms using state-of-the-art equipment such as OTDR and Fluke testers, experience in fibre transmission such as DWDM, Ciena, Rack and power installation, while ensuring meticulous labelling of cables according to DPK work schedules. Collaboration is key as you'll liaise with Team Leads to prioritise cabling infrastructure works and resolve service tickets promptly.If you're ready to take on new challenges and be part of a fast-paced, innovative team, then join us at Fastnet Group. The ideal candidate will possess essential skills such as a solid understanding of data cabling, hands-on experience with CAT-5e, CAT-6, fibre optic termination and proficiency in fault-finding with OTDR and Fluke testing equipment.
Designing, maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure.
Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
Recommending infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements in compliance with IT policy & procedure.
Providing Level 2 support and troubleshooting as and when required.

Ideal Profile

You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
You have at least 1 year of experience, ideally within a Data Engineer or Network Engineer / Systems Engineer role.
You pay strong attention to detail and deliver work that is of a high standard
You enjoy finding creative solutions to problems
You are a strong team player who can manage multiple stakeholders
It is essential that candidates be proficient in the installation termination and testing of fibreoptic cable as well as fault finding within data centres and technology rooms using equipment such as OTDR and fluke testers.
Experience with MOPS and DPK schedules is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates with knowledge of end-user ticketing services, strong Excel skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills will excel in our dynamic team environment.
