- Collect and review CDD and EDD documentation (e.g. broker memos, bank statements, income proof) from brokers and corporate agencies to ensure alignment with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between brokers and Compliance, clarifying documentation expectations and resolving deficiencies prior to formal Compliance review.
- Perform additional EDD tasks where applicable, and validate data from independent sources including:
- Online adverse media searches
- Corporate registry or business filing checks (e.g. Companies Registry)
- Collaborate with Compliance and other stakeholders to support the design and maintenance of a compliance framework that reflects the insurer's responsibilities over the partnership distribution channel, including conduct risk management.
- Support the development of internal controls in areas such as:
- Identification and escalation of conduct risk indicators
- Intermediary due diligence (onboarding and periodic reviews)
- Broker compensation and incentive governance
- Marketing and communication review processes
- Assist in ensuring processes comply with applicable regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Support Compliance and Internal Audit teams during thematic reviews, internal assurance exercises, or regulatory inspections.
- Prepare documentation, data extracts, and summary materials to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and internal control expectations.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to address requests from Compliance or regulators regarding intermediary practices.
- Act as the operational bridge between brokers, the partnership distribution business, and Compliance.
- Help resolve queries related to CDD/EDD, broker practices, or regulatory interpretation.
- Support awareness and training activities to promote compliance consciousness in the distribution function.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Law, or related field.
- 5 years or above of experience in compliance operation or intermediary management.
- Familiarity with Hong Kong insurance regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Practical experience in handling regulatory documentation or supporting compliance reviews involving brokers.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory obligations for insurance intermediaries in Hong Kong.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
- Capable of working cross-functionally and supporting compliance and audit teams.
- Proficient in both English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus.
