(Post Ref.: 24/83)The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) invites applications to fill two senior tenure-track positions at the rank of Chair Professor/Professor/Associate Professor. Specifically, we are looking to appoint candidates with proven track records in arts and technology and in creative/media industries to help us develop research and teaching in animation and digital arts, and creative/media industries. Specialists in one of the following areas are welcome to apply: arts and technology, interactive multimedia technology, creative industries with a focus on art curation and art/media markets.The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) currently hosts 3 BA (Hon) undergraduate programmes (Animation and Digital Arts; Creative Media Industries; Visual Studies) and two MA programmes (Creative and Media Industries; Curating and Art History). Our curriculum includes animation and digital arts, film and art history, media/creative industries, and curating. For more information, please visit .The appointee is expected to generate research or creative outputs with high impact; to teach relevant courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate final projects, and to make major contributions to service and development of the Department. The appointees are also expected to take up administrative roles as Head or Program Director of the MA programs when qualifications are met.RequirementsApplicants for the position should have: * A PhD degree in relevant areas in digital arts and media studies;
  • Excellent track record of refereed publications (including creative works), awards, and competitive grants;
  • A good teaching track record of curriculum development and innovation;
  • Proven record of administrative experiences and commitment to institutional building.
Candidates are required to provide information about their research records and evidence of high-quality teaching in relevant subjects.Salary and BenefitsThe conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee.Appointment will normally be made on an initial contract of three years, which, subject to review and mutual agreement, may normally lead to longer-term appointment with the possibility of consideration for substantiation.
