
Assistant Vice President/Senior Associate, Corporate Loans Operations (IBG - Loan Redemption)

- Handle and process to complete loan redemption requests, i.e. provide loan settlement amount and prepare redemption letters to solicitors for preparing release/discharge of mortgage/charge in accordance with the established processing/control procedures, operating Delegation of Authorization (DoA), service standards
- Collect redemption money, handle loan repayment, process discharge/release documents and cancellation of credit facility limit in accordance with the established processing/control procedures, operating Delegation of Authorization (DoA), service standards
- Adhere to, provide guidance on, and ensure section members comply with the rules, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Bank, HKMA, MAS, etc., pertaining to the operations.
- Comply with UDMA Policy requirements as well as UDMA governance processes, controls, and support tasks, if required.
- Escalate exceptional/outstanding/suspicious transactions to the section head and other relevant parties where appropriate for necessary action per the Enhanced Incident Escalation/Incident Management Policy.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve the section's goals and to complete their responsibilities.
- Promote and encourage open and good communication amongst all levels of team members.
- Support any initiatives/new services and perform the coordinator role as designated.
- Keep abreast of business developments, market practices, laws and guidelines, and share with section members.
- To handle and support the operations of loan redemption and to ensure full and correct redemption amount is collected upon discharge of mortgage property. To supervise the team to provide quality loan servicing of mortgage loans and report to government related bodies for mortgage loans drawn under specific government housing loan schemes as well as to ensure adherence of daily operations to agreed service level
- To check and approve the jobs done by subordinates for correctness and accuracy and in compliance of Operations Manual and the service requirements
- To sign off for discharge (For designated staff)
- To review and suggest ways to improve the efficiency and quality of services
- To prepare and update Operations Manual and guidelines
- To prepare, review and update Business Continuity Plan and conduct regular drill to ensure the operations will not be interrupted due to disaster.
- To manage, supervise, motivate, coach and train staff to build up an efficient, knowledgeable and professional team
- To understand the bank policies on data protection, risk & security control and regulatory compliance in order to comply requirements; and escalate problem / exception to supervisor or manager immediately
- To support in ad-hoc project and assist to conduct user acceptance testing & live verification as well as live verification on various systems enhancements so as to have better customer experience, increase productivity and control effectiveness in daily operations
- To timely escalate issue or incident to supervisor
- Degree holder, or post-secondary education with relevant working experience
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience with 3 years’ experience of people management
- Sound experience of banking operations and practices
- Good knowledge and experience of banking operations and loan processing
- Good leadership and management capabilities
