- Station at the construction site to supervise daily work making sure the site complies with safety ordinances, statutory requirements, and contractual requirements.
- Attend site safety meetings and progress meetings.
- Prepare monthly reports stipulating the summary of observations made during site inspections and other issues pertaining to safety on site.
- Conduct daily site inspections covering all aspects of work together with the employer/AP& RSE/contractor’s representative.
- Produce promptly detailed safety report after site inspection to include practical recommendations for improvement.
- Review safety plans, proposals, and method statements submitted by the contractors as requested by the employer.
- Follow up with contractors’ site personnel to ensure actions have been taken to the observations made.
- Advise the employer on any liability in regard to the safety aspects of the project operation.
- Advice on current development and change in occupational health and safety issues and regulations.
- Review contractor's internal safety audit report to the employer on any non-compliance or recommendations.
- Conduct regular evaluations on the safety performance of the contractor.
- Review of accident/incident report for on-site accident/incident submitted by the contractor, if any.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent.
- A requirement of a Registered Safety Officer (RSO).
- Not less than 5 years or above post RSO experience in the construction field.
- Knowledge of local regulations, procedures, standards, and code of practice on construction site safety.
- Confident English report writing on health and safety issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
