Established in 2022, the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI) is a university-level research institute named in honour of the University’s first Medical School Dean. GCNI is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant / Junior Research Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Preclinical PET/MR Imaging Laboratory. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong background/interest in medical imaging and radiography.Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging, Radiography, or a related discipline, preferably with prior laboratory research experience; (ii) excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills; and (iii) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; and (iv) a strong interest in MRI technology, and prior experience in animal handling will be considered a significant advantage.The appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting in daily operations of the imaging facility, including routine maintenance and equipment calibration; (b) coordinating with campus management, safety office, and laboratory animal services for inspections and compliance; (c) liaising with other departments to manage facility booking systems and animal housing logistics; (d) maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, consumables inventory and managing procurement as needed; and (e) ensuring strict adherence to ethical standards in all procedures involving laboratory animals.Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.The University only accepts and considers applications submitted online for the post above via the CUHK career site.
