Economist

• Conduct in-depth macroeconomic and financial market research on the global, regional, Mainland China or Hong Kong economies that is relevant to a central bank
• Prepare reports and briefing materials on macroeconomic and financial market developments, and their implications to financial stability
• Participate in policy analysis and discussion
• Contribute to working groups of international organisations
• Manage financial market databases

• Postgraduate degree in economics or finance. PhD candidates are welcome to apply
• At least 3 years of solid experience in conducting in-depth empirical research (applied econometric analysis) at universities / financial institutions / international organisations and central banks / research institutes
• Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g. R or Python) an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in applied economic and financial sector analysis an advantage
• Good economic sense; solid analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent command of both English and Chinese, with good drafting and presentation skills

• Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
