Our Solutions Architect will be working with clients across a variety of sectors and domains to showcase Thoughtworks' unique differentiators in DPS, Cloud Native Modernization, taking a highly iterative approach to bring forward modernization returns on investment and ensure continuous value delivery. This role will be driving and implementing continuous improvement to the Thoughtworks Application Modernization service offering, through the harvesting of better defined processes, better ways of working and implementation, based on a continuous feedback model with EMPC focus accounts to develop a repeatable, scalable framework.Job responsibilities

Proposing cost-effective cloud-native architectures and the future state technical stack for applications in scope for modernization, adopting a Domain-Driven Design approach, ensuring the future state evolvable architecture is aligned with current and future business needs
Advising the client on Monolith to Microservices techniques and recommending appropriate application modernization strategies (E.g. Re-architecting, Refactoring, Replatforming and Retiring) across their application portfolio.
Leading program-level Application Modernization test strategy, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery best practices, devops key metrics, automated fitness functions and pipeline automation, alignment and execution.
Maintaining the program-level modernization technical roadmap aligned to To-Be business processes, contributing to technical delivery milestones and end-to-end showcases across Thoughtworks delivery pods. Accountable for incremental delivery of high quality, production-ready working software.
Advising and delivering the strategies and engineering roadmaps from emerging technologies not limited but including & preferably in Generative AI and regional / global managing services / Blockchains etc
Driving the pace and quality of the technical organization by establishing a lightweight architecture governance framework, ensuring the adoption of Architecture Decision Records and collaborative technical decision making practices across the program
Evangelizing and advocating for Platform Engineering and Platform Thinking, curating To-Be Reference Architectures and harvesting cross-cutting reusable components, shared services and core frameworks.
Establishing key forward engineering practices, aligned to the client's modernization charter and talent uplift objectives
Effectively communicating technical vision, mentoring client and Thoughtworker technical leaders on approach and execution of solutions, coaching on technologies and establishing a team-wide comprehension of solution capabilities and direction.
Ensuring EMPC technical expectations of deliverables are met, setting the Thoughtworks bar for technical excellence on the account, and establishing clear expectations for Thoughtworkers and customers.Driving EMPC Application Modernization Thought-Leadership on engineering and architectural practices, standards and Thoughtworks differentiators to various audiences, including EMPC sales support and EMPC product team.

Job qualificationsTechnical Skills

Experience as an architect and leading and inspiring cross-functional software development teams
Experience in (one of) DPS, Application Modernization, Legacy Remediation or Platform Engineering
Understanding of the practical application of agile development methods and leading software development teams in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment.
Solid understanding of the following areas (with practical experience in several):
One or more public cloud offerings (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) along with value added services such as message queues, databases, etc
Cloud native architecture styles (domain-driven design, microservices, serverless)
Infrastructure as Code (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD)
Modern API platform design (REST, gRPC, etc.)
Ability to articulate the “big picture” to delivery and client teams and understand cross functional inter-dependencies and impact

Professional Skills

Strong communication skills, listens and shares information
Openness to contradictory opinions and flexible in your thinking
Practical experience with quality engineering and XP development practices
Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin with strong business acumen
Proven related BFSI working background, domain knowledge and project experience are of higher priority in consideration
