About the RoleThe Strategy Manager, Asia will help develop and execute the strategic direction for the Asia business, specifically with a focus to lead the design and management of strategic pricing projects to drive top line growth. This position will:Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement pricing optimization initiatives to drive top line growth
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop country/market strategy plans and M&A roadmap/pipeline
  • Develop business cases for major projects, M&A, and CAPEX investments to drive growth Review pricing decisions and ensure coherence across the region
  • Support the regular business review and budgeting processes
If this role did not exist, strategic direction for the Asia market would not get the attention and support that it needs to drive additional growth.1. Drive strategy plan process – develop the country/market strategy plans and M&A pipeline, in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Analyze market trends and competitive dynamics in order to understand and align on “where are we” and “where do we want to go”
  • Gather and review performance metrics to evaluate gaps and support decision making
  • Assess and recommend entry into new markets/segments/channels
2. Business case development – support countries/markets to develop business cases when major investment or CAPEX is required for:
  • New product development – work with countries/markets to identify unmet customer needs that can translate into new product or functionality development with our product and technology teams
  • Existing products for new markets – formulate strategies for taking existing products in our global portfolio to countries/markets
  • M&A – develop the investment rationale and required analyses for potential M&A targets
  • Identify needs and develop hypotheses on the improvement of pricing levers for existing and new products
  • Define the project’s objectives, deliverables, scope, approach and timeline
  • Design market research surveys to capture insights from customers
  • Collaborate and obtain alignment with all relevant stakeholders to develop actionable recommendations that will deliver measurable results
  • Prepare persuasive & compelling presentations to clearly communicate the case for change
  • Support the implementation of initiatives
  • Providing informal, ad-hoc strategic pricing advice to colleagues
  • Proactively and continuously gathering intelligence on industry and strategic pricing trends, market drivers and competition to support pricing decisions
3. Pricing, packaging and tactical initiatives – establish pricing strategies for new and existing products, develop and execute initiatives to support regional top line growth objectives
