- Data Exploration and Insights: Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured datasets to uncover actionable insights for improving operational efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and logistics performance.
- Predictive Modeling: Build and deploy machine learning models to forecast shipping routes, delivery times, freight costs, and potential risks.
- Optimization: Develop algorithms and strategies to optimize supply chain operations, vessel utilization, route efficiency, and fuel consumption.
- Data Pipeline Development: Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and availability.
- Visualization & Communication: Create dashboards and reports to visualize data insights and communicate findings to stakeholders, non-technical teams, and senior management clearly and effectively.
- Collaborative Solutions: Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand requirements, design data-driven tools, and deploy solutions at scale.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R, SQL, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Knowledge of Spark or Hadoop is an advantage.
- Machine Learning & AI: Strong experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch to address complex problems. Competence in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning is a bonus.
- Data Visualization: Expertise in creating compelling visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Analytics Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data science, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Advanced knowledge of statistics, optimization techniques, and quantitative modeling.
- Problem-Solver: Solid ability to tackle ambiguous problems and think critically under tight deadlines.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, teamwork, and presentation skills. Ability to simplify technical findings for business audiences.
