About Our ClientOur client is a long established firm with a global presence across Asia, Middle East, Europe and the US. With a diversified offering of services, they are instrumental in serving their client base of multinational corporations, financial institutions and private individuals to navigate the challenges they face in today’s market. They are currently looking for a high calibre Financial Controller to take a leadership role in managing their HK office.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Regional CFO, you will have autonomy and responsibility to manage the strategic and day to day financial matters including:
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, providing direction and advice to upskill their technical and interpersonal skills
  • Manage the full scope of technical financial and statutory reporting requirements, including the month end closing process, consolidations and liaison with shared service centres
  • You will lead the budgetary and forecasting process, working alongside the business to ensure they meet projected goals and targets
  • Work as a strategic business partner to help senior management understand financial numbers, performance, implications and devise suitable action plans
  • Perform analysis and interpret data in a meaningful manner to measure performance, profitability and opportunity
  • Work with the business to minimise risk and capitalise on opportunities to achieve objectives for growth and expansion
  • Support on ad hoc projects, drive improvements and streamline for efficiency
Job RequirementsThis is a great opportunity for a high performing financial controller looking to step up to a more strategic business partnering role. You will be
  • Qualified ACA/CPA or have an equivalent professional certificate
  • Trained in a Big 4 or CPA firm and have 8-12 years of progressive experience working in the professional services sector in Hong Kong
  • Be technically strong and capable of leading a team to compile full sets of accounts
  • Knowledge of working with the HK/China market, understanding the financial and regulatory environment including taxation matters will be an advantage
  • Able to work at a more strategic level, and have the ability to see both the bigger picture as well as roll sleeves up to get involved in detail when necessary
  • Have the executive gravitas and confidence to work with the senior management team, business heads and other senior level stakeholders
  • Proven business partnering skills, and able to work with the business to problem solve and make a difference
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in English and Chinese, including Mandarin
