Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.Job Description:Job descriptionSupport the development of discount rate calculation and management solution for Asia, including an assessment on discount rate-setting approach and support defining business requirements for the calculatorSupport wider Corporate ALM workstream in determining the scope for investment data solution and IFRS 17 explanation of Investment Results for the Asia Business GroupAssist in assessing and determining ALM implications for Business Units and Asia Business Group in regards to IFRS policies, ALM operating model, asset segmentation, risk and ALM management, as well as financial risk modellingSupport the SAA review and ALM optimization under IFRS 17Support the implementation through working collaboratively and communicate effectively with various functions such as finance, actuarial, investment and product pricingProvide support to ALM process upgrade and transformationProvide support to projects related to IFRS 17Lead and steer ad-hoc ALM related projectsPreferred skills
  • Knowledge in insurance products and ALM
  • Knowledge in IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 is a plus
  • Familiarity with Canadian actuarial and accounting reporting practices
  • Strong technical / modelling skills, knowledge or experience in major actuarial modelling software (e.g. AXIS), spreadsheet and database (MS Excel, MS Access)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to deliver according to deadlines
  • Attention to detail and demonstrate commitment
Qualifications
  • Degree holder with professional actuarial qualifications such as FSA or equivalent, with more than 2 years of post-qualification experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant working experience in the insurance industry, with strong experience in ALM or IFRS17 valuation
  • Experience and knowledge on some of regulatory and capital metrics, liability management, investment and hedging strategies
Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Director, ALM IFRS 17 in Asia. This role will be a key member of the Asia IFRS 17 Project team and will provide wide-range ALM support including development, execution, implementation and oversight of best practice and ALM strategies in Asia.
  • This role would also require the candidate to work closely and help to manage relationships with actuaries, finance, ALM and investment professionals with local Business Units (BU) in supporting ALM related assignments.
