Our different perspectives and experiences enhance the outcomes we achieve and make us a fun and adaptable team.Role Overview:We are seeking an Senior Executive / Manager, M&G, to join our team in Hong Kong. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, M&G, North Asia, based in Hong Kong, the position will provide high quality and effective business development support for North Asia, particularly on the following key areas:
  • Disputes, Investigations & Advisory Division;
  • Finance, Funds & Restructuring Division; and
  • Bank Industry
This is a fixed term contract for a period of 8 months.Main Responsibilities:This is a "hands-on" role with variety across the full spectrum of business development activities, including:Practice Management and Support
  • Work closely with M&G team, the practice and Industry teams and key cross-practice partners on the full suite of business development activities, prioritising opportunities for revenue growth in line with the firm's strategic plan.
  • Advise on marketing and business development plans for practice areas and lawyers to achieve growth and market recognition.
  • Planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns and thought leadership initiatives to achieve practice area and broader firm positioning.
  • Contribute to wider M&G team projects, including supporting new systems and processes, as required
Pitching and Client Focus
  • Work closely with lawyers to deliver pitches to the highest standards within deadlines
  • Coach lawyers on their presentations and ensure the teams follow best practice
  • Seek client feedback, capture pitch outcomes and prompt lawyers to act upon feedback
  • Credentials and CVs maintenance
Directories & Awards
  • Work closely with lawyers and ASC Client team to lead all relevant submissions for directories & awards
Communication & Event Management (with support from Asia marketing and PR team)
  • Support integrated campaigns, thought leadership, events and other client facing activities, working collaboratively with the firm's comms and marketing specialists, to raise our profile in key markets
Others
  • Share best practice and facilitate collaboration with lawyers, Clients, Markets and Growth team and other support functions
  • Opportunity to assist in firm wide, local, departmental, practice area or industry initiatives
Risk and Control
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous business development & marketing experience in legal industry/professional services environment is required
  • A degree in Laws, Marketing and/or Business is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Chinese is preferred. Korean and/or Japanese language skills are also highly welcomed.
  • Advanced proficiency in Windows operating system, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (advanced level) and iManage and InterAction or similar systems
  • Strategic thinker with strong focus on execution
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A true team player - ability to empathize with others is the key to success in this role
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels. Ability to motivate and coach lawyers to engage on business development initiatives is highly valued
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload, meet tight deadlines and manage expectations
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy
