Are you a data-savvy professional ready to drive significant change in the insurance industry? We're searching for a dynamic Data Business Analyst to join our team in Hong Kong. In this role, you will be a key player in our enterprise-wide data transformation, translating complex business challenges into innovative data solutions. Perm Position.What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Pioneer Data Initiatives : Partner with business leaders to gather and synthesize requirements for our high-impact data initiatives. You will be the bridge between business strategy and technical execution.
  • Architect Data Solutions: Transform business needs into precise data specifications, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and comprehensive reporting frameworks that drive business success.
  • Champion Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of our data, playing a crucial part in the ongoing quality of our data ecosystem.
  • Visualize the Future : Develop and maintain compelling dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI to monitor data quality and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build a Knowledge Foundation: Maintain and enhance our data dictionaries, process flows, and requirements documentation to ensure clear communication and alignment across all teams.
  • Specialize in Local Expertise: Apply your deep knowledge of the Hong Kong Life and General Insurance market to ensure our data solutions meet specific industry and regulatory standards, including those related to IFRS 17 and Solvency II .
  • Thrive in an Agile Environment: Actively contribute to our Scrum team, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure data tasks are prioritized and delivered efficiently.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Statistics.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a data or business analyst, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector. Exposure to policy, claims, customer, or risk data is highly valued.
  • Exceptional proficiency in data querying, profiling, and transformation using languages and tools like SQL and Spark (Databricks/Spark SQL).
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical data specifications and user stories for data engineering teams.
  • Practical experience with data governance platforms, particularly Informatica for data cataloguing and metadata management.
  • Experience documenting data models, glossaries, and business dictionaries, with a focus on supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including business users, engineers, and architects.
