The role will cover Business Analysis work on all asset classes to support the Data requirements from a growing business and de-risk our investment operations following a high-level target operating model. Main responsibilities are to collate data user requirements from stakeholders across the business, to coordinate with different Alternative workstreams within our asset classes, to support the data requirements from these workstreams and sharing these with the BAU Data team and to contribute your input and experience on the Data and IT architecture with our internal specialists (Alt IT architect, Data team). The successful candidate should ideally have relevant knowledge and proven experience on similar Data work in Alternative Asset Management.Principal Accountabilities:o Set-up data governance structure for all Alternatives classeso Buildout data ownership model, establish and assign data owners for Alternatives data domains and data fieldso Implementation and set-up of data management policies and processes, data quality checks, data ingestion and associated controlso Develop and maintain data documentation, creation of Alternatives data dictionary, data quality rules and inventoryo Design consolidated HSBC Alternatives transaction and security type taxonomy in collaboration with business teamso Assist with assessment, vendor scoring and selection of 3rd party data solution providero Strong documentation skills, high level of attention to detail, understanding of Alternatives business processesKnowledge & Experience
  • The candidate shall have relevant knowledge and experience on Alternative Domains background to demonstrate:
  • Good business analysis skills.
  • Mandatory: knowledge of Alternative Asset Management – Ideally, certain level of knowledge on specific asset types and related business processes within our business
o Following asset classes: in Indirect investments (funds of funds) - Private Equity or Hedge Funds; in Direct investments: Private Credit, Real Assets, Venture Capitalo Processes: origination, portfolio management, capital calls and distributions, valuations, NAV validation, reporting

  • Ability to synthesise the high-level picture while understanding the details.
  • Significant experience in Alt data management and set up.
  • Ideally knowledge of some of these tools: Citco, and potentially Allvue, eFront, MSCI, WSO.
  • Analytical expertise in operational and business change requirements
  • Write Business Requirement Document (BRD)
  • Process and data modeling
  • Design and document existing/ new requirements and processes with limited existing documentation.
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understands, follows, and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy
  • Understand the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, HSBC Global Asset Management’s TCF philosophy and how this affects your role. Act in a manner that takes account of these principles to ensure fair outcomes for customers
