The results of the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers in
the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) are classified as Level 2,
Level 1 or Fail, with Level 2 being the highest.(ii) Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of
Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE); or Grade C or above in
Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the
Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), are accepted as
equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE. Level 4 in Chinese
Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade D in Chinese Language and Culture
or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE, are accepted as
equivalent to Level 1 in the UC paper of the CRE.(iii) Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade C or
above in Use of English of the HKALE; or Grade C or above in English
Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE
A Level), are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE.
Level 4 in English Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade D in Use of English
of the HKALE; or Grade D in English Language of the GCE A Level, are
accepted as equivalent to Level 1 in the UE paper of the CRE.(iv) Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below
band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-
year validity period of the test are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the
UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date
during the application period.)Duties:
A Contract Engineer is mainly responsible for -
(a) conducting daily monitoring of local and global medical device safety alerts (MDSAs) and
adverse events (AEs) reports of medical devices;
(b) performing investigation on established MDSAs and AEs, and follow-up with local
manufacturers, importers and distributor on corrective and preventive actions;
(c) maintaining database on MDSAs and AEs, perform data analysis and generate reports to
facilitate risk communication;
(d) scrutinise applications on listing of medical devices and traders including local manufacturers,
importers and distributors; and
(e) assisting in the formulation and promotion of new medical device registration and licensing
policies.(Remarks: Successful candidate will be required to perform outdoor duties/site visits. Working
venues and hours may vary depending on operational needs of the Department. May be required to
work on shifts.)Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service terms. Renewal of contract will be
subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.Fringe Benefits:
(a) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently
satisfactory standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the
sum which, when added to the Government's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund
(MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the
total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) Candidates appointed are eligible for 14 days' paid annual leave. Other benefits such as rest
days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave/ paternity leave and
