Our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will also cultivate talent to serve Hong Kong and the wider metropolitan GBA.For more information about the University, please visit .Temporary Research Assistant I/II (R6793) (S&T) (Ref: 25001TR)We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:Temporary Research Assistant I/II (R6793) (S&T) (Ref: 25001TR)Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe appointee will mainly assist the research team in a research project “Intelligent Resource Allocation in Coded Computing for Distributed Machine Learning with Heterogeneity” (R6793). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:Conducting literature review;Developing algorithms;Writing simulation programs for numerical analysis;Carrying out data pre-processing and post-processing;Assisting in documentation; andPerforming any other research duties assigned by the Principal Investigator(s) or Supervisor(s).CandidatesCandidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:A Master’s degree or above in Information Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related discipline (for Temporary Research Assistant I);A Bachelor’s degree or above in any of the above mentioned disciplines (for Temporary Research Assistant II);Related research experience in machine learning, distributed computing, optimization methods, and/or error-correction coding will be preferred;Strong programming ability in MATLAB / Python;Good writing skills in research articles; andSelf-motivated, strong learning capability, and fluent in English.Terms and Conditions for AppointmentSuccessful candidate will be appointed on a temporary full-time contract.
