Reporting to the President, the appointee will be a member of the Central Management Team responsible for the strategic planning and management of non-academic functions as well as subsidiaries of the University as set out below.Job FunctionsThe appointee will be required to:(a) plan, lead and oversee institutional matters in connection with the administration and management of the University's non-academic affairs and resources, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with the University's mission and strategic goals;(b) spearhead the University's external engagement strategies, cultivate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders such as government bodies, industry partners, donors, alumni, and the broader community to enhance the University's reputation and opportunities for advancement;(c) lead and oversee fundraising and development initiatives, including the development of innovative funding-raising campaigns and cultivation of an expanding donor community in and beyond Hong Kong;(d) direct the University's communications and public relations management, ensuring effective internal and external communications, brand management, media relations and the promotion of the University's achievements and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders;(e) lead and oversee the performance of designated non-academic units for institutional matters such as fund-raising, alumni development, public relations, finance management, human resources management, University health service, internal audit, legal and compliance as well as subsidiaries;(f) develop and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate organisational risks, and leads cross-functional teams in responding to and recovering from crises to safeguard the University's interests;(g) support the development and execution of the University's strategic plans and institutional initiatives;(h) embrace the latest technologies such as AI to transform the non-academic operations of the University for the enhancement of operational efficiency and quality assurance; and(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the President or his/her delegate.QualificationsApplicants should:(a) have a postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualifications with sound professional credentials;(b) have proven track records of leading and managing a diverse portfolio consisting of the relevant business functions in a sizeable organisation;(c) be a visionary and inspiring leader with a strong drive for innovations and excellent performance while fostering a positive work environment to unleash the potential of a diverse team of professionals;(d) have proven ability to engage, collaborate, and build effective partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry leaders, donors, alumni, and the media;(e) have strong commitment to the enhancement of operational efficiency and quality assurance via the use of AI and other emerging technologies;(f) possess extensive experience in assessing and mitigating operational and reputational risks, with a proven ability to manage crises in complex environments;(g) have exceptional communications, interpersonal and presentation skills;(h) have good knowledge of the local education landscape and institutional development opportunities in the Mainland; and(i) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being a definite advantage.Preference will be given to those with extensive international, Mainland and local networks with the academic, government, industry and professional sectors.Remuneration and Conditions of ServiceTerms of appointment and remuneration package are negotiable and highly competitive.Application and NominationPlease submit applications and nominations to Director of Human Resources, 13/F, Li Ka Shing Tower, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong or via email to .
