Post-doctoral Fellow / Senior Research Assistant in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 526306).
To commence as soon as possible until 31 December 2025, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performanceApplicants should possess a doctoral degree in Social Science, Education Measurement, Psychology, or a related discipline. They should have at least 1 year of relevant working experience, good communication skills, and an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (knowledge of spoken Cantonese would be an advantage). A strong background on quantitative research methods and statistical modeling as well as the design and validation of performance assessment and psychometric instruments is mandatory. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of analyzing quantitative research data using advanced statistical tools (e.g., MPlus, R). Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and be self-motivated. Familiarity with the literature and/or experience related to digital divide, learning and assessment of digital competence/AI literacy in diverse contexts beyond formal school settings would be a strong advantage. The ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines is essential to succeed in this role. Appointees should have a strong sense of responsibility and able to work independently and in a team with different stakeholders. Applicants with a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow. Those with other higher degrees and substantial research experience in relevant areas may be considered for appointment as Senior Research AssistantThe appointee will work on a research project that evaluates the design and implementation efficacy and achievements of a set of Smart Teens projects designed to empower youth to address digital inequality. He / She will work closely with the PI and the project team to:
1. Contribute to all aspects of research design, instrument development and validation, scale development, data cleaning, analysis and report writing.
2. Support the PI in the coordination and monitoring of the instrument development and validation process, including seeking advice from the PI & co-Is to ensure the research design and implementation maintains a high quality.
3. Conduct pilot studies and testing.
4. Work closely with the project manager in the development of training materials for data collection and the drafting of the reports to disseminate evaluation findings to the participants in the Smart Teens projects.
