The position offers an invaluable opportunity for the intern to learn the business of a leading global asset management firm as well as gain a first- hand insight into the compliance career path within a leading global asset management firm.The positions will be based in Hong Kong with opportunities to work with the broader compliance team in the region. Our compliance function enjoys a close working relationship with all business lines and the role offers an unusual vantage point from which to gain a high-level understanding of our business broadly as well as a deeper understanding on selected areas. The Compliance Interns will receive an introduction to our established compliance program, observe how the regional program fits in the global program, have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in other regions, and be welcomed to contribute ideas for improving our program as a member of the team. The Compliance Interns will report to the Compliance Officer in Hong Kong.The internships will run from 1) January to June 2024, or 2) July to December 2024RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities will include the following:Assisting with licensing applications, regulatory surveys and reports.Preparing internal compliance updates for supervisory meetingsAssisting with reviewing marketing materials and conducting compliance testingAssisting with wall crossing requests from brokersUpdating presentation decks and conducting compliance trainingAnalysing regulations; conducting comparative studies; and drafting internal proceduresQUALIFICATIONSHighest personal and professional integrity and ethicsSelf-motivated, enthusiastic and strong interest in the investment management industryStrong writing, analytical and problem-solving skillsFluency in written and spoken English.
