At HSBC Private Bank, we put our clients at the centre of everything we do.We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Market Data Manager.Principal ResponsibilitiesThe role will cover the full scope of GPB&W and provides the role holder opportunities to work across GPB&W markets and functions, HSBC Market Data teams, other HSBC business entities and external third parties.The focus of the role is to:
  • Set-up and manage a global GPB&W market data management framework that ensures strict governance and control to maintain a strong cost discipline
  • Work across the data teams to provide detailed understanding of the architecture set up and its data consumption / flows
  • Work with the GPB&W ExCos (and their delegates) to identify, recommend and implement efficiencies in GPB&W market data consumption and ensure these are scrutinised and maintained
  • Develop a deep understanding of the market data used across GPB&W to critically assess requirements and support as an SME
  • Act as the SPoC on all market data aspects as the core interface between the GPB&W business and Market Data Services teams
  • Manage all market data processes e.g. new/renewal contract engagements, new access requests, 90 day unused reviews, exits etc.
  • Represent product owners and markets to deliver market data requirements through close liaison with the vendors and the HSBC Market Data Services team
  • Work hand-in-hand with the HSBC Market Data Services team to understand GPB&W’s global/local contractual obligations with providers to ensure timely feedback on data requirements, duplication or alternatives which drive efficiency
  • Review market data consumption across markets and products, and ensure continuous alignment with HSBC’s contractual obligations
  • Produce effective market data usage and cost management information that facilitates strategic decision making and that demonstrates continued optimization and value for money
  • Own the understanding and define the resolution of ad hoc market data issues as they arise
  • Support the continued combination of the GPB&W business by seeking opportunities across every aspect of the role e.g. removal of market data duplication, contract consolidation etc.
Requirements
  • Detailed understanding of Private Banking and Wealth investment products, and the platforms, capabilities and business processes that support their end to end lifecycle management
  • Detailed understanding of investment market data (uses, data flows, contracts, vendors etc.) and how to manage
  • Proven track record of delivery across multiple markets, with an understanding of Agile methodology and the change management lifecycle
  • Experience of onboarding and managing external third parties
  • Posses the capacity to define problems, analyse causes, assess options and find effective solutions
  • Experience in building and managing business cases
  • Experience in a global environment that demands organisational agility and getting results through effective management of processes and others
  • Very strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills across geographies with ability to relate to people at all levels both internally and externally
  • Highly organised with exemplary attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, driven and delivery focused
  • Highly adaptable with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
  • Effective presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Understanding of GPB&W Strategy and the HSBC Group
