[Appointment period: each for twelve months]DutiesThe appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Jockey club smart ageing hub”.The appointees will be responsible for different duties according to their post assigned.For one of the posts, he/she will be required to:(a) assist in routine administrative tasks for the project;(b) support the design and execution of technical tasks related to gerontechnology;(c) manage and analyze data collected from project activities, including the development, installation, and implementation of gerontechnology-related devices at designated sites;(d) handle financial procedures such as purchasing and processing payment bills in accordance with institutional guidelines; and(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.For another post, he/she will be required to:(a) provide general support to the daily operations of the Day Experience Centre, including conducting guided tours, workshops and exhibitions related to gerontechnology;(b) offer logistics and operational support for project-related events and activities;(c) liaise with internal and external partners to explore and foster collaboration opportunities; and(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.QualificationsFor the post of Research Associate / Project Associate, applicants should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Social Science, Business Administration or a related discipline with three or more years of research/relevant work experience.For the post of Research Assistant / Project Assistant, applicants should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification in the above-mentioned disciplines.For both posts, applicants should have:a) a fair command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua.b) good written communication skills in both English and Chinese; andc) good interpersonal and communication skills.Preference will be given to those with:a) hands-on work experience in research/project related to gerontechnology, elderly or persons with disabilities; andb) relevant working experience in tertiary institutions/NGOsApplicants are invited to contact Ms Jessica Wong at telephone number 2766 7659 or via email at [email redacted, apply via Company website] for further information.Conditions of ServiceA highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.ApplicationPlease submit an application through PolyU’s career website (https://jobs.polyu.edu.hk/research).
