
Senior Associate, Actuarial (IFRS17)

- Actively participating in the design, testing, and validation of actuarial models for IFRS 17 compliance (for both PAA & GMM measurement models).
- Perform technical analysis and contribute to solution development for reserving, valuation, and reporting processes.
- Support the integration of IFRS 17 requirements into existing actuarial systems (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, or other valuation tools).
- Actuarial Modeling & Analysis:
- Develop and refine cash flow projections, discounting methodologies, and risk adjustment calculations under IFRS 17.
- Validate data quality and perform sensitivity testing on key assumptions.
- Assist in the calculation of Contractual Service Margin (CSM) and liability balances.
- Data & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for IFRS 17 reporting.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance efficiency.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for actuarial software updates.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and controls for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Generate and analyze IFRS 17 financial disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting reports for senior management and auditors.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with finance, accounting, and actuarial teams to align IFRS 17 outputs with financial statements.
- Support training and knowledge-sharing sessions for junior team members.
- Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory guidance related to IFRS 17.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Certifications: Progress toward actuarial qualification (ASA, CAS, or equivalent). IFRS 17-specific training is a plus.
- Experience:
- 3-5+ years of actuarial experience in insurance (Life, P&C, or Reinsurance).
- Exposure to reserving, valuation, or financial reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, or Solvency II.
- Hands-on experience with actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, R, Python, or SQL).
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Previous involvement in an IFRS 17 or LDTI implementation project.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting standards beyond IFRS 17 (e.g., IFRS 9, Solvency II).
