- Process and review import and export letters of credit (LCs) in accordance with UCP 600 rules, international trade laws, and internal policies.
- Conduct thorough analysis and verification of trade documents, including shipping documents, invoices, and insurance policies, to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as Relationship Managers, Trade Finance Operations, and Compliance teams, to ensure smooth transaction processing and timely resolution of issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients, responding to inquiries and providing guidance on LC requirements, document discrepancies, and related trade finance matters.
- Monitor and track LC transactions, ensuring accurate and timely updates in the bank's systems and databases.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to LC operations and trade finance.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, metrics, and documentation for management and regulatory purposes.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, streamlining work flows, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Diploma or related disciplines.
- Solid experience as an LC Officer or in a similar trade finance role within a foreign bank or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of UCP 600 rules, ICC regulations, and international trade practices.
- Familiarity with trade finance products, including import and export LCs, standby LCs, and related banking instruments.
- Proficiency in using trade finance systems and platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to spot document discrepancies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Sound understanding of risk management principles and the ability to identify and mitigate trade finance risks.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
