Job Duties:
  • To assist in conducting research related to Cantonese opera and other museum exhibitions;
  • To assist in the logistic arrangement related to Cantonese opera and other museum exhibitions;
  • To compile and register museum artifacts related to Cantonese opera and other museum exhibitions;
  • To prepare exhibit lists for uploading at museum collection online system for public's browsing;
  • To conduct photo recording, measurement of the collected artifacts and exhibits and input their information such as object name, dimension, background information etc. into the registration / inventory system of the Museum, or other database format instructed by representatives of the Museum,
  • To assist in preparing, editing and proofreading of text such as catalogue, booklet, panel, caption, , for museum exhibitions, activities and publications;
  • To provide assistance in the management of Sheung Yiu Folk Museum (a branch Museum of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum), including stock-taking of exhibits, checking of daily operational documents, preparing documents arising from daily operation of the museum, etc,

  • To conduct research for thematic exhibitions; and
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by the representatives of the Museum.
Requirements:
  • Be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  • A Bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong University, or equivalent, should be in one of the following subjects: Chinese History, Cultural Studies, History, Museum - Studies, Fine Art or equivalent;
  • An excellent command of both Chinese and English and have met the language proficiency requirements of "Level 2" results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE or equivalent results
  • Three (3) years full-time post-qualification working experience, at least two (2) years in public museum, cultural or academic institute. With experience in participating in installation of museum exhibits and handling museum artefacts such as Cantonese opera collection or rare books is preferable;
  • Good knowledge in practical computer skills, e.g. MS Office and Mac OS System;
  • Fast and accurate typing skills, both Chinese and English;
  • Ability to work independently and systematically;
  • Patient, careful and responsible manners:
  • Ability to interact with and be comfortable meeting people;
  • Good knowledge in Social Media Marketing is definitely an-advantage, such as IG, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Immediately available is highly preferred.
