The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities. Applications are now invited for the Part-time (Daytime / Evening) Lecturer post for the programme of BSc (Hons) Digital Media offered at SHAPE (Tuen Mun) in the academic year 2025/26.
Subject Areas:
(i) Creative Technologies Project
(ii) Commercial Games Development
(iii) 3D Modelling and Animation
Major Duties:
(a) To conduct lectures / laboratory practices / perform teaching duties at the bachelor’s degree level;
(b) To mark and provide guidance / feedback on students’ assessments and projects;
(c) To carry out academic related administration duties, including invigilating examination, serving in academic and other related meetings;
(d) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(e) To participate in school projects and functions when necessary; and
(f) To conduct quality research, seek external funding, teach undergraduate, develop curriculum, supervise students, and undertake administrative and service related activities.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised master’s degree in IT / Multimedia / Media Studies or related disciplines;
(b) At least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary / degree level or relevant work experience in IT / Multimedia / Creative Media Industry;
(c) Experience in research, dissertation / project supervision is highly preferable; and
(d) The appointee(s) are expected to work well with colleagues. Preference will be given to those who are willing to teach skills-oriented courses and possess industrial experience or particular expertise in Creative Technology, Programming, Game Programming or Animation.
