Job Category: Technical ServicesJob Description:Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Telecommunications Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Our telecommunications networks cover the full spectrum of technologies including fibre optic, transmission & multiplexing, microwave, LAN/WAN, PABX, TETRA, radio networks, and other supporting facilities systems. Reporting to Senior Engineer, the appointee will manage below major duties:-Major Duties include:
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments to deliver telecommunications services/projects to fulfil customers' needs
  • Deploy and restore telecommunications services upon user requests, equipment fault, and system upgrade and migration
  • Supervise a work team to conduct construction, installation, modification, pre-commissioning tests, operation, maintenance and repair activities of telecommunications services, system equipment, and facilities systems in a safe, high quality and efficient manner
  • Perform operation and maintenance work to achieve key performance indicator (KPI) target for telecommunications system availability
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of facilities systems to ensure an optimal operating environment for the telecommunications system team in carrying out operation work to meet customer expectation
  • Conduct audit check to ensure work done by team members and contractors complies with approved working procedures, safety requirements, related specifications, proper risk mitigation measures, appropriate standards and legal requirements
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. customers) to ensure site activities (including planned outages) meet performance targets
  • Provide training to and supervise site works of team members and contractor workers to ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards; maintain good working condition and housekeeping of all tools and equipment
  • Perform emergency call-out work and work under adverse weather condition as and when required
Requirements
  • Higher Certificate/Higher Diploma holder (QF Level 4) in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 2 years' relevant work experience OR Ordinary Certificate (QF Level 2)/Ordinary Diploma (QF Level 3) holder with 4 years' relevant work experience
  • Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card)
  • Valid Driving License class 1, 2 (or 1a, 2a)
  • Grade “A” Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker will be an advantage
  • Authorised Person - Restricted Duties (AP-07E or above) is preferred
  • Safety Supervisor or equivalent is preferred
