MAIN PURPOSEThe SWM (Specialized Watchmakers) Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting the development of Richemont’s watch division in North Asia, with a specific focus on distribution coordination and business development in the wholesale channel. This role acts as a key liaison between regional markets and the watch Maisons, ensuring alignment of strategic distribution goals, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional execution.This position is both analytical and strategic in nature, requiring strong project management skills, excellent business acumen, and a hood understanding of the luxury watch industry in North Asia.Key ResponsibilitiesSWM Coordination & Strategic Planning
  • Lead the preparation and follow-up of SWM Monthly meetings: drive insights, performance analysis, and strategic discussions.
  • Coordinate regional market projects, distribution mapping, and network optimization analyses.
  • Collect and consolidate market intelligence, including in-house data across functions and Maisons, and external sources (market reports, competitors, landlords).
  • Support the Maison and regional teams with special projects and ad hoc analyses.
Wholesale Distribution Strategy & Business Development
  • Support the implementation and evolution of the wholesale distribution strategy across the region.
  • Identify strategic opportunities and assess potential development with existing and new partners in key North East Asia locations.
  • Support strategic distribution projects in partnership with Maisons (e.g., boutique openings, network reshaping, new formats).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners such as department stores and distributors.
  • Monitor distribution performance, suggest improvements, and contribute to the roll-out of regional best practices and retail excellence.
  • Provide recommendations to management on business opportunities and market-driven action plans.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting
  • Ensure clear communication and reporting of regional initiatives and performance updates to Maison and regional management.
  • Maintain structured documentation of initiatives, distribution plans, and performance reviews for internal alignment.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in business development, distribution, or strategic planning—ideally within the watch or luxury industry.
  • Strong understanding of the wholesale distribution landscape and consumer dynamics in North East Asia.
  • High proficiency in data analysis and advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills; able to drive initiatives independently while navigating a matrix organization.
