- Develop and implement a comprehensive global procurement plan for materials, utilizing strategic geographical strategies in collaboration with internal cross-functional partners (, fabric sourcing & merchandising team) and key mills in Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia & Bangladesh).
- Analyze category data and indicators to propose mill strategies aligned with the company's 5-year plan.
- Collaborate with the Raw Materials Director to conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, including evidence-based negotiations based on supplier and industry analysis, benchmarks, and cost structure analysis.
- Research and recommend mill allocations that result in year-over-year cost savings and ensure competitive pricing for selected fabric items while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Analyze data and insights to support the Asia material allocation plan and streamline the supply base for materials in Asia.
- Verify and update costing reports for all fabric components up to artwork/color levels in the bill of materials (BOM).
- Perform historical data analysis of fabric consumption to establish procurement plans, including year-over-year material cost analysis and volume per supplier for each season and annually.
- Collaborate closely with the Director to organize fabric cost negotiation meetings and follow-up meetings.
- Implement cost improvement initiatives based on factual costing strategies to achieve negotiated savings year over year.
- Issue Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to nominated mills and generate bi-weekly MOU balance reports to adjust fabric nomination volume.
- Lead the onboarding process for new Asian fabric suppliers to ensure a consistent supply.
- Prepare mill scorecards and performance reports for management review, supporting global procurement decision-making.
- Provide evaluation reports to review supplier capacity in relation to business volume and planning.
- Identify areas of supplier risk and implement risk mitigation actions with technical and feasible solutions for fabric-related issues at the mill.
- Support global projects as identified and agreed upon with internal key affiliates.
- Report to Fabric Procurement Director, and maintain close communication with sourcing teams and vendors across all locations.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in textile or a related business discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing knit and woven fabric, with at least 5 years' experience in a sizable apparel buying office. Candidates with extensive relevant experience will be considered for senior positions.
- In-depth technical knowledge of fabric construction, production processes, and testing and safety standards.
- Excellent fabric analysis skills and experience in fabric order management and vendor management.
- Strong data analysis and project management skills for global or regional procurement.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to negotiate effectively with different counterparts.
