Assistant Manager (Climate Action) (at the rank of Executive Officer II)The Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is set up to advise senior management on key areas of University Social Responsibility (USR). The Office engages University members across units and co-ordinates their efforts in realising CUHK’s USR goals that are in line with the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, including the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2038. To maximize the impact of the University’s USR initiatives for sustainable development, the Office endeavours to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local and overseas institutions. The Office also operates the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and the secretariat of the Hong Kong Chapter of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.Reporting to the Director via the Head of Climate Education and Action, the appointee will be responsible for (a) serving as the subject officer for museum curation and collections; (b) assisting in the planning, development and delivery of museum exhibitions and climate action projects; (c) conducting research for exhibition content and impact survey; (d) performing duties in community liaison and capacity building; (e) drafting museum and event text, correspondences, proposals and reports; (f) assisting in office administration and committee work; and (g) performing other duties as assigned.Applicants must submit copies of certificates showing that they have fulfilled the language requirements and academic qualifications stated above, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered.Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.CUHK is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to promoting equality, inclusivity, diversity and the highest ethical standards.The University only accepts and considers applications submitted online for the post above via the CUHK career site.
