Our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will also cultivate talent to serve Hong Kong and the wider metropolitan GBA.For more information about the University, please visit .We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:QualificationsMajor Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe appointees shall mainly assist the research team in a research project “Teaching and Learning in Digital Humanities: A Study of Enhancing the Experiences of Chinese Literature and Culture through Interactive Installations for Immersive Space”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
  • Researching and developing machine learning based technique for natural language processing and interaction tools for large-scale immersive space;
  • Researching and developing generative AI for the teaching and learning of Chinese Literature and Culture;
  • Writing academic reports for journal paper submission;
  • Assisting the Principal Investigator/supervisors to prepare experiments; and
  • Conducting other ad-hoc research activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator.
CandidatesCandidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Applicants whose highest qualification obtained is a Doctoral degree may be considered at the level of Research Associate;
  • Applicants whose highest qualification obtained is a Master’s degree may be considered at the level of Research Assistant I; and
  • Applicants whose highest qualification obtained is a Bachelor's degree may be considered at the level of Research Assistant II.
  • Knowledge in conducting research and development in the field of Natural Language Processing, Transformer, Deep Learning, Data Science, or track-record of publication or research projects in related fields;
  • Proficient in Python, C/C++, large scale neural network training, language model, data processing, pytorch, tensorflow, CUDA, NCCL, MPI, and other relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in research projects related to Chinese language processing is a plus;
  • Part-time MPhil / PhD students are encouraged to apply;
  • Detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and work independently; and
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
